CURRENT ACTIVE DISASTER DECLARATIONS:

Grant Program(s) activated:     

 

From Governor Reynolds's May 31, June 10, and June 16, 2022 state disaster proclamation press releases, “[t]he Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program provides grants of up to $5,000 for households with incomes up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level or a maximum annual income of $43,920, for a family of three. Grants are available for home or car repairs, replacement of clothing or food and temporary housing expenses. Original receipts are required for those seeking reimbursement for actual expenses related to severe weather recovery. The grant application and instructions are available on the Iowa Department of Human Services website. Potential applicants have 45 days from the date of the proclamation to submit a claim.” 

 

Allamakee County. Disaster declaration issued on July 25, 2022. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program has been activated. The deadline to apply for benefits is September 8, 2022.

Clayton County. Disaster declaration issued on July 25, 2022. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program has been activated. The deadline to apply for benefits is September 8, 2022.

Emmet County. Disaster declaration issued on July 6, 2022. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program has been activated. The deadline to apply for benefits is August 19, 2022.

Hancock County. Disaster declaration issued on July 6, 2022. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program has been activated. The deadline to apply for benefits is August 19, 2022.

Harrison County. Disaster declaration issued on July 25, 2022. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program has been activated. The deadline to apply for benefits is September 8, 2022.

O'Brien County. Disaster declaration issued on July 6, 2022. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program has been activated. The deadline to apply for benefits is August 19, 2022.

Shelby County. Disaster declaration issued on July 25, 2022. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program has been activated. The deadline to apply for benefits is September 8, 2022.

Winnebago County. Disaster declaration issued on July 6, 2022. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program has been activated. The deadline to apply for benefits is August 19, 2022.

Winneshiek County. Disaster declaration issued on July 25, 2022. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program has been activated. The deadline to apply for benefits is September 8, 2022.

·       To apply for help from Iowa Legal Aid:

o   call 800-532-1275

o   Iowans age 60 and over, call 800-992-8161

OR

o   apply online at iowalegalaid.org

·       If Iowa Legal Aid cannot help, you can look for an attorney on “Find A Lawyer” on the Iowa State Bar Association website – iowabar.org.   A private attorney there can talk with you for a fee of $25 for 30 minutes of legal advice.
