CURRENT ACTIVE DISASTER DECLARATIONS

State Declared Disaster Declarations with Iowa Individual Assistance Program activated:

From Governor Reynolds's July 20, 2017, state disaster declaration press release, “[t]he Iowa Individual Assistance Program provides grants of up to $5,000 for households with incomes up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level or a maximum annual income of $40,320, for a family of three. Grants are available for home or car repairs, clothing or food replacement and temporary housing expenses. Original receipts are required for those seeking reimbursement for actual expenses related to storm recovery. The grant application and instructions are available on the Iowa Department of Human Services website. Potential applicants have 45 days from the date of the proclamation to submit a claim.”

Allamakee County. Disaster declaration issued on July 20, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is September 6, 2017.

Bremer County. Disaster declaration issued on July 22, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is September 6, 2017.

Buchanan County. Disaster declaration issued on July 22, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is September 6, 2017.

Chickasaw County. Disaster declaration issued on July 25, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is September 8, 2017.

Clayton County. Disaster declaration issued on July 14, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is August 28, 2017.

Clayton County. Disaster declaration issued on July 20, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is September 6, 2017.

Clinton County. Disaster declaration issued on July 22, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is September 6, 2017.

Dubuque County. Disaster declaration issued on July 25, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is September 8, 2017.

Fayette County. Disaster declaration issued on July 20, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is September 6, 2017.

Floyd County. Disaster declaration issued on July 25, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is September 8, 2017.

Johnson County. Disaster declaration issued on July 22, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is September 6, 2017.

Kossuth County. Disaster declaration issued on July 25, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is September 8, 2017.

Winneshiek County. Disaster declaration issued on July 20, 2017. Individual Assistance is activated. Deadline to apply for benefits is September 6, 2017.

·       To apply for help from Iowa Legal Aid:

o   call 800-532-1275

o   Iowans age 60 and over, call 800-992-8161

OR

o   apply online at iowalegalaid.org

·       If Iowa Legal Aid cannot help, you can look for an attorney on “Find A Lawyer” on the Iowa State Bar Association website – iowabar.org.   A private attorney there can talk with you for a fee of $25 for 30 minutes of legal advice.
